Under the slogan “Cinema Accessible to All”, sensory screenings promote a message of tolerance and acceptance of diversity. These screenings are held in adapted conditions for children with sensory integration difficulties, but their core idea is to remain public and inclusive. They take place with dimmed lights and reduced sound levels, allowing children to move around freely, bring their favorite toy, snacks, and drinks, and attend with parents, grandparents, teachers, friends—either as part of a school group or privately.
The sensory screenings were organized in collaboration with the Metamedij Association from Pula and the School for Education and Training Pula, with the support of the City of Pula.
The sensory screenings were first initiated in 2016 by Associate Professor Dr. Eva Brlek, a professor of educational rehabilitation and psychotherapist, and Sandra Malenica, a professor of Croatian language and comparative literature, with the support of the Croatian Film Association..
