Remix of Identities 6 | Open call for remixing contemporary and traditional music
Metamedia Association invites you to apply on the open call for remixing of contemporary and traditional music ”Remix of Identities 6”.
The subject of the open call is the contact of contemporary music genres with traditional tunes of Istrian peninsula. We welcome all genres and our aim is to motivate participants on a creative and experimental re-interpretation of traditional music. Two remixes will be selected by the members of the jury – Koolade, Milan Đurić, Noel Šuran & Marino Jurcan which will receive a cash prize of 1000 HRK and 500 HRK. A wider selection of the candidates will be published on a collaborative, joint album.
The call is open to everyone, and the only condition is to use samples which were created on our previous workshops ”Remix of Identities” which will be sent by email after the application. Applications should be made via online form. Remixes should be sent on kontakt.radionice@gmail.com with the subject ‘’Remiks identiteta 6 – prijava na natjecaj’’ by 30 November 2020. Please use some of the internet-based computer file transfer service, such as WeTransfer or Jumbo mail, for sending large files.
Remix of Indetities is a musical project by Metamedia Association . The aim is to create a dialogue between the traditional and contemporary music, and to explore the possibilities of communication between different societies, cultures, traditions, historical periods and movements through contemporary music, remixing traditional music with contemporary.
